ABOUT TAZA CATERING & EVENTS

A husband-and-wife company in Phoenix. And the people we built around us.
Taza started with two people: Chef Sandra Lockard and Nick Lockard.
Sandra designs the food. Nick builds and runs the systems that make everything happen. We design it, engineer it and build it around you. Together, we’ve built a team and a catering operation designed around one thing: taking care of people really well.
When you call Taza, you don’t get passed to an account manager or a call center. You get Sandra or Nick. We’re involved from the first conversation through the last tray packed up.
Veteran-owned · Women-owned · Serving Phoenix since 2019
We don’t start with a package. We start with you.
Your event isn’t a template, and your menu shouldn’t be one either.
Every Taza menu is built around your event, your guests, your setting, and what you want the experience to feel like. Chef Sandra asks the questions, listens to the answers, and builds the menu from there.
Corporate lunch? Wedding reception? Employee appreciation event? A private dinner in an Airbnb kitchen we’ve never seen before? Need the setup to say a message? Need it to look well composed and presented?
We love that, and we figure it out. Suzanne said it best:

“Chef Sandra is a delight to work with, from initial questions about menu through final cleanup! She has a relaxed, capable, experienced manner — and, of course, most crucial, she is an excellent cook!”

Taza Catering & Events is built for 30 guests or 600
We’ve catered intimate dinners and large-scale corporate events—and we bring the same level of preparation and attention to both.
Our smallest event was a twelve-guest dinner in an off-road Airbnb with an unfamiliar kitchen. One of our largest was a 425-guest corporate employee appreciation lunch for Paypal in Scottsdale.
Different rooms. Different menus. Different challenges. Same Taza system.
That means thoughtful planning, food that holds up at scale, a team that knows what it’s doing, and logistics handled before they become problems. Nicholas Yorke said it best after we set up an ran a flawless 4-line, self-serve buffett for 425 people at Paypal corporate offices of Scottsdale. Every employee was sitting and eating in 22 minutes!
“Recently Taza catered a lunch for our employee appreciation event. Sandra, Nick and their team did an amazing job running the event. The food was amazing. They are incredibly kind and professional.”

Food is important. So is how people feel - that's you and your guests
Good catering isn’t just about putting food on a table.
It’s about being prepared, asking the right questions, then really listening to you.
It’s about noticing the details, mostly before you do.
It’s about making the host’s job easier.
It’s about treating your guests like they matter. Taza moves with fluidity and grace, never in the way, but a dropped fork gets a replacement, fast.
That’s what we’ve built Taza around.
Taza customers don’t just get fed. They get treated. You get to relax and get compliments.
Dietary needs aren’t an exception. They’re part of the plan.
Halal. Gluten-free. Celiac-safe. Vegan. Vegetarian. Dairy-free.
Nut-free.
We plan for dietary needs from the beginning—not as an afterthought once the food is already being prepared.
Our menus and service are organized so dietary options are clearly labeled at every station, making it easier for guests to know what they can enjoy without having to track someone down and ask.Our kitchen uses strict cross-contamination controls.
Because everyone at the event deserves to feel considered, like Shelly said:
“They were fantastic about understanding food allergies and adapting so everyone was able to feel treated!”
